Baked Bean Scone Recipe - Scone With The Wind

2oz/55g of butter
8oz/225g of self-raising flour
Small cup of baked beans
pinch of salt
1oz/25g of grated cheddar cheese
5fl oz/150ml of milk

Baked Bean Scone Recipe


Heat the oven to approx 220C/425F (Gas mark 7). Mix the salt, flour and butter together in a large bowl.

Add the cheese and stir in the baked beans. Next add the milk until you get a soft dough. Turn the dough onto a floured board and knead. Compress out to a round 2cm/¾ inch thick. Using a 5cm/2in cutter, cut out the rounds and place them on a greased baking sheet. Knead together the remaining dough and stamp out more scones - using up all of the mix. Brush the tops of the scones with a little milk. Bake for 12-15 minutes until well risen and golden.
Cool on a wire rack and serve.
