Orange Scone Recipe


This is a recipe for orange scones. You will need the following;

2 1/2 cups of flour
2 tea spoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon grated orange peel
1 cup sour cream
1 egg separated
4 teaspoon orange juice
2 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup of cold unsalted butter sliced into pieces

How to make your orange scones:

Mix your dry ingredients in a food processor. Stir to mix further. Add butter and use pastry blender until the mixture resembles course crumbs. Mix the sour cream, egg yolk and the orange juice. Stir into dry ingredients and kneed the mixture to combine. Divide the mix into half. Shape into 6" rounds. Place on a greased baking sheet. Cut into 6 wedges. Beat egg white and then brush over the tops then sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
