Vanilla and Cinnamon Scone Recipe

225g/8oz self raising flour
55g/2oz butter
25g/1oz caster sugar
pinch of salt
150ml/5fl oz milk
1 tsp cinnamon
3/4 cup chocolate chips
15ml vanilla flavouring

Preheat the oven to 220 C/425 F. Lightly grease a baking sheet. Mix together the flour salt and rub in the butter. Stir in the sugar, vanilla and cinnamon, then the milk to get a soft dough. Turn onto a floured bench and knead lightly, pat out to 2cm thick, use a 5cm cutter to cut out the rounds and place on a lightly greased baking tray. Brush the tops with milk and bake for 12-15 minutes until cooked. Cool an a wire rack.
